Introduction

A good strategy of note taking in class will pay off in terms of effectiveness and time saving. It is a highly personal skill but the guidelines presented in the next section go a long way to providing a sound framework.

Equipped with a good set of regularly reviewed notes, you will be more confident and more inclined to:

• contribute in class
• write creative and original essays and assignments
• be in a better position to conduct research and further investigation of class material

This chapter looks in detail at these skills and provides some tips.
