A skill is a learned activity that can be developed and continually improved through practice. This chapter provides guidelines to assist you in improving your existing skills and develop new ones.
The more obvious Study skills, such as essay writing and exam techniques are only one side of the coin. Qualities such as effective time management, self-motivation and commitment make for a balanced and organised approach to study.
It is important to look at all aspects of college life and learn to deal with the stresses and anxieties that can result, therefore this chapter also examines coping techniques and outlines what is realistically expected of you.
