Step 10: Sample answers

What is the nature of your disability?

Avoid giving too much medical information, concentrate instead on the work position, tools used and working environment. Explain the conditions within which you can work efficiently while providing examples.

If you feel that you need to reassure your recruiter on your ability to fulfill tasks, you could offer to carry out a task relating to the job (with the use of your own material if necessary).

How much do you want to be paid?

Depersonalise the issue while giving a value to the position (every year, magazines publish average wages per sector and position).

What are you expecting from your manager?

Imagine yourself as a future employee. A manager is usually expected to :

  1. Give precise objectives.
  2. Provide clear directions to follow.
  3. Announce long-term strategy plan.
  4. Delegate tasks and stimulate your interest.
  5. Be open-minded and honest.
