Your achievements

Your Curriculum Vitae (CV) documents your professional and educational background, as well as a description of your achievements and interests. These experiences and achievements have given you a variety of skills and knowledge that can sometimes be underestimated. Therefore, it is very useful to have an understanding of the degree of expertise and knowledge you have acquired.

Listing your experience and achievements will enable you to sell yourself more effectively during the interview and being aware of your weaknesses will enable you to anticipate difficult questions that you may be asked. Use the 'professional experience' Word document [44kb] to list your experience and achievements.

Competencies are described in terms of:

  • knowledge - for example : I know the different parts of a car engine.
  • know-how - for example:
    "I am able to use ..."
    "I am able to execute/fulfill ..."
    "I am able to organise ..."
    "I am able to dismantle a car engine"
  • attitude - being aware of your attitudes and behaviour. For example: "I am punctual."

Degrees of competency (1 to 4):

  1. Elementary knowledge
  2. Knowledge : know how to partially execute the task
  3. Practice : task fulfilled with autonomy, know to how manage difficulties
  4. Expertise : know to improve, innovate, transmit…
