Access policy
Policy relating to this site
This website is designed to be as accessible as possible to the
widest range of users. The site is designed to conform with XHTML
standards as well as Bobby Triple A standards.
Consistency
Every page is designed with a common layout which includes a
site logo, an administrative navigation bar (including links to
changing font size etc.), a main navigation menu and a content
area.
Personalisation
Users can use the 'change layout' link to select a preferred
font-size and layout for the pages.
Technical requirements
This website avoids very large pages or files which may slow
down a users experience of the site. We have also avoided imposing
high technological requirements on the user.
This website is designed to be fully accessible. The following features
were taken into account when designing this website and related content:
-
Visually impaired users: All
images used on this site have associate descriptions for screen-reading
software. The site is designed using 'Stylesheets' so that the user
can define the size of the font. When the user next enters the site,
the font size they have chosen will be used.
-
Users with hearing impairments:
Any audio clips on this site will be made available in a text version
for users with hearing impairments. No content will depend on the
use of audio to convey information.
-
Users with dyslexia: The content
and navigational structure of this site is designed to be straightforward
and intuitive. For users with dyslexia, text is always left-aligned
and navigational elements are used consistently across the site.
-
Mobility-impaired users: For
users who may have difficulty operating a mouse, a number of shortcut
keys are available for accessing content. Forms on this site will
also allow for the user to 'tab' to each field and submit the form
using the enter key.
